Summer’s here.

People all over the world are hitting the road.

In the U.S., auto club AAA estimated that 30.7 million people drove 50 miles or more over the Memorial Day weekend, up from 2011 despite higher gas prices.

I travel a lot and I drive a lot. In the last four years I’ve visited 30 U.S. states, three Canadian provinces, the U.K., France, Spain, Mexico and Amsterdam – mostly for speaking engagements. Maybe I’m more of a curmudgeon or perhaps I’m paying closer attention.

People are less courteous drivers than I remember. One clue: drivers are using their turn indicators less than ever. Turn indicators might as well be options on the cars of some drivers.
